NEF
Nikon Electronic Format
What is NEF?
NEF is Nikon's proprietary RAW image format used by Nikon digital cameras. Like other RAW formats, NEF files contain the unprocessed sensor data along with camera settings metadata. NEF files preserve the full dynamic range and color information captured by the sensor, giving photographers maximum control over exposure, white balance, and other settings during post-processing.
